Part history, part
legend, and often tall
tale, cowboy poetry
may be the truest of
all American art forms.
It gives words to the
western way of life
and speaks to the
very spirit of the
country.

The influence of
the Cowboy Poet can
be felt here all year
around but each July
these wordsmiths in
blue jeans are drawn
to Carbon County
to share their stories
and dream up a few
new ones. The
Gathering of Cowboy
Poets brings lovers of
the old west from all
over the world to
Rawlins in search of
true western spirit.
